Mexico-Canada Concert 2023

Here’s a selection of photos from Opera de San Miguel’s 8th MEXICO-CANADA CONCERT, which was held last Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Casa de Europa in San Miguel de Allende.

​

The concert, which was very well received, with standing ovations, featured the French-Canadian mezzo-soprano Caroline Gélinas, winner of the Opera de San Miguel Prize at the 2022 Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques Competition in Montreal, and the Mexican tenor Andrés Carrillo from Mexicali, Baja California, a prize winner at Concurso San Miguel 2014.

Both Caroline and Andrés, accompanied by OSM Resident Pianist Maestro Mario Alberto Hernández, sang a program of opera arias and duets devoted to the Italian and French repertoires, with music by Bellini, Bizet, Cilea, Donizetti, Gounod, Halévy, Leoncavallo, Massenet, Meyerbeer and Puccini.
